February 2nd marks Groundhog Day. February 2nd, 2011 also marks the first year since 2007 that Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow.

The supersticious tradition started in 1886. According the the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club, the groundhog has seen his shadow 98 times but has gone without seeing his shadow only 14 times.
