Year of the Dragon!

Happy Lunar New Year!  Celebrate coming into the year of the dragon in the Chinese zodiac calendar. This weekend Bellingham celebrates the new year with two events.

Year of the Dragon Celebration – 龍年春節聯歡會

The Northwest Chinese Cultural Association will be hosting its annual Lunar New Year Celebration this Saturday, January 28th from 12 – 4 PM at Whatcom Community College Syre Student Center. Please come and join us for a fun and joyous celebration. Food will be catered by Xing’s Panda Palace, Wonderful Buffet, and Hawaiian BBQ. The event will feature music, singing, dance, taichi, kung fu performances, a dragon parade, Chinese Calligraphy, and much more. I will be the co-MC for this event along with WWU sociology professor Baozhen Luo. More info can be found at www.nwcca.org by clicking on the “Events” page. 3rd Annual Lunar New Year night at WWU The Chinese Student Association (CSA) at WWU is hosting its own Lunar New Year Celebration this Friday, January 27th from 6-8pm in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room. Tickets are on sale at the PAC box office ($5 for general admission and $3 with WWU student ID).  All proceeds will benefit ORBIS International, a non-profit organization that provides eye care to third world countries.
