The Technology Alliance Group for Northwest Washington is holding an education summit from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., on Friday, March 16, at 3240 Northwest Ave. Panelists include Jeff Wright, Western Washington University’s dean of the college of science and technology; Janice Walker, Whatcom Community College workforce education coordinator; and Sharon Carpenter, Bellingham Technical College’s dean of professional technical education. The three will discuss what’s on the horizon for Whatcom County’s higher education institutions and what that means for local business.
NorthWood Hall staff will offer hot lunch and salad, coffee, water and a variety of sodas to attendees. Admission is $15 for TAG members and $25 for nonmembers. Registration closes March 13. For more information, visit www.tagnw.com.

Calling all photographers! Do you have a photo that captures the essence of Bellingham? The Herald wants it! Winners of the photo contest will receive special recognition from Bellingham Mayor Kelli Linville and the Bellingham City Council. Their work will be featured on Bellingham TV Channel 10 and the city’s website, as well as added to the museum’s archives.
Entries may be submitted online, by mail or in person. Deadline for entries is May 1.
