International discussion panel
There will be a short film showing and a discussion panel of students from several different countries, such as Egypt, South Africa, Pakistan and Colombia, answering questions about the current state of politics in their home countries on Feb. 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Heiner auditorium.
Street law
Free legal advice will be provided by Whatcom LAW Advocates, a local organization, and the paralegal club in the foyer of Heiner Hall on Feb. 13 & 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
International Week
The International Programs department and the International Friendship club will be hosting a series of events from Feb. 20 to Feb. 22. Events include poetry reading, lectures and performances. For more information contact Ulli Schraml: uschraml@whatcom.ctc.edu.
International Night
As part of international week, the International Friendship Club will be hosting a night of food, music and performances, including martial arts demonstrations, henna painting and a fashion show, on Feb. 21 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Syre auditorium.
Human Rights Film Festival
A variety of films highlighting human rights struggles will be showcased at various locations around Bellingham, including Whatcom Community College and the Pickford Film Center, from Feb. 21 to March 2. Trivia bee
Students from communication classes will be hosting a trivia bee for three person teams on Feb. 7 in the Syre auditorium. Registration cost is $10 per person and there will be prizes for the first, second and third placed teams. Doors open at 6 p.m.
