Student Help Desk
A student help desk staffed by the IT Professionals of Tomorrow, located in the Baker Hall foyer every Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. will do repairs, troubleshoot problems, and remove viruses from computers for students, staff and faculty.
Scottish Highland Dance Competition
The “Reel Competition” will be coming to Whatcom Community College Oct. 26., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.This competition showcases Scottish highland dancing from the beginning to advanced levels. Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for children.
Las Cafeteras
A Los Angeles-based band called Las Cafeteras will be coming to the Syre Auditorium Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. Las Cafeteras mixes spoken word, folk, hip hop and Afro-Mexican styles into their bi-lingual act, with a community and activism focused message. Admission is free.
Young children, brain development and media
Dr. Sarah Roseberry Lytle of the Institute for Learning and Brain Sciences at the University of Washington is coming to Whatcom to discuss how media can affect developing children’s brains. This event will occur Oct. 23, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Admission is free.
University of Alaska Visit
A representative from the University of Alaska at Fairbanks will be coming to Whatcom’s Syre Student Center Oct 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students can get information about the university’s programs and ask any questions about the school.
Shake Out! Earthquake Drill
