Author Hedrick Smith Comes to Whatcom
Pulitzer Prize winner and author of “Who Stole The American Dream” will be coming to Whatcom Nov. 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Heiner Theater to discuss his book. Hedrick Smith worked as a reporter and editor for The New York Times for 26 years, and is an Emmy Award-winning producer.
TEDxBellingham Viewing Party
A free viewing party will be held to watch the inaugural TEDxBellingham event at Whatcom Nov. 12 in Syre Student Center rooms 107/108. The livecast begins at 10 a.m., and runs until 5 p.m.
U.S. Smart Grid Event
Dr. Kevin Schneider, the senior research engineer at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Seattle, will be coming to Whatcom Nov. 15 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in Syre Student Center room 103. Dr. Schneider will be discussing the electricity infrastructure in the Pacific Northwest, and how it has evolved over the course of more than 130 years to meet the demands of citizens.
University of Phoenix Representative
A representative from the University of Phoenix will be coming to Whatcom Nov. 25 from 10:30 a.m to 2 p.m. in the Laidlaw Center foyer. They can answer student questions and provide information about the University of Phoenix.
Western Washington University Personal Statement Writing Workshop
A Western admissions representative will be coming to Whatcom Nov. 21 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Cascade room 153 to share tips and insights on how to write a personal statement letter for college admissions.
