Hundreds gathered at Village Green Sunday Apr. 26 to celebrate and honor Historic Fairhaven’s founding father, Dirty Dan Harris. This year’s 13th annual Dirty Dan Harris Festival included a wide variety of local food and merchandise vendors, competitions, Dirty Dan lookalikes, live music, a beer garden, and a chili cook-off. The day started off with a kayak race from Boulevard Park to Fairhaven, with salmon tossing and donut hole eating competitions taking place back at the Village Green.
Event goers enjoyed a live music performance from the JP Falcon Band throughout the afternoon. Local restaurants participated in the Chuckanut chili cook-off. Many people dressed up in unique costumes for the event, including the Whatcom Ladies of the Evening and those participating in the Dirty Dan lookalike competition.
