A smorgasbord of dessert in the Learning Commons provides a feast for your eyes. Student artists and library staff have worked together to create a sweet installation of art and books.
Cardboard Confections, a food-themed art show, features student creations from the Visual Arts Department. Maya Moore’s “It Mayo Shock You” features a chocolate glazed torte topped with raspberries and wafers of dark chocolate. Drew Cade’s “Acrylic on Paper Canvas” painting of an apple and citrus fruit stares back at the viewer. Max Duryea’s “Mrs. Brisby’s Baked Goods” includes fully designed boxes for baking mixes with names like “Positively Pumpking!” and “Night Time Nosh!”
Cookbooks, selected by library staff, sit next to the art and include such morsels as “The Great British Baking Show: Favorite Flavors” and “Masala Mamas: Recipes and stories from Indian women changing their communities through food and love”
This collaborative effort between the Visual Arts Department and the WCC Library launched on February 12 and runs through February 29 in the Learning Commons second floor. It is worth a bite of your time to visit.
