Here we are, about halfway through the quarter. Time sure flies when you’re having fun! Or at least that’s what I’m told.
Speaking of time…it’s the time of year to break out the scarves, gloves, and winter coats! My favorite thing about this time of year is the way the colors change on the trees.
I think there are few things more fun than jumping through a huge pile of leaves that just fell off a tree…and, I love curling up with a cup of hot chocolate or tea and a good book while the rain pours outside.
Not to mention Halloween! It’s always fun to see how creative people can get once a year, dressing up their kids (and themselves, of course) and heading out for trick or treat candy.
I stopped trick or treating at an early age, unlike most of my friends, but it’s still fun, even today, to hear about their experiences. After Halloween, there’s Thanksgiving to look forward to, which is my personal favorite because it allows me to give thanks not only for my family and friends, but it also reminds me of how blessed I really am. I’m alive and well…what more could I need?
It’s hard to believe that another year has almost passed us by. It seems like just yesterday that we made our New Year’s Resolutions and rang in 2010. Now it’s almost time to do it all over again!
With the good comes the bad, which is why part of me doesn’t look forward to this season at all…because I know that what’s to come is freezing wind, endless rain, and potentially, snow.
Anyway, enough about what’s to come in a few weeks! In the meantime, I hope you find time between studying to curl up on your couch and enjoy the Horizon. The staff has worked incredibly hard on their stories. We have a small group this quarter, but they pull their weight. I am lucky to work with such a great bunch.
